What is the most likely reason for my period being late?
I’m five days late. And yes I had a NEGative pregnancy test yesterday. I’ve been off of my birth control Yasmin for 6 periods. I have a 21 day cycle (fast I know) but 21 days is normal for me. My past 6 periods have been normal. No new weight loss or gain. No change in diet. Some new stress. So whats going on girls?
Oh I’m a 20 year old mother of two my youngest son is 14 months old. And I’m married. Sorry about posting this here…but everyone over in health said I was just pregnant.

STRESS. Any type of stress, little or major can cause you to miss a period(s).
Also, your body may be taking a little longer to re-adjust after you stopped taking your birth control (Yasmin).
Relax. Exercise. Give your body time to adjust.
You will be fine.

Did you go off or on the pill recently? Or did you skip around w/ the pill throughout the month?

I have irregular periods during times of high stress. See if you could cut back on some of it, but see a doctor if it continues.

If you are an exercise addict it might affect your cycle too you know.

maybe you are. some tests are not 100% reliable.
but as you said you are a bit stressed out so it’s probably just stress.

chances are it’s just stress, but it could be a delayed reaction of coming off the birth control. I stopped taking my pill (nardette) almost 2 years ago and am just recently seeing the effects of being off the pill. If you took a test and it was negative I wouldn’t worry too much. My cycle is all over the place if I’m not on the pill so try to relax and let nature take its course.

STRESS! It does it all the time. Take some time to yourself and relax. Go to the doctor and get some blood work done just to make sure. I took 3 and all 3 said neg. but I found out later that I was six months full of baby.

If you are hanging around your girlfriends more or a new group of girlfriends or girlfriend, that is the reason. For some reason unknown to mankind, woman schedule (unconsciously) there periods around there friends so they all get them at the same time and they all know when they have got them. True.

You are pregnant. But then again, it could be stress making you irregular. We girls go through so much…

Probably stress, but I think birth control can do that also, because they regulate you hormones, so with out them you won’t be as regular.

stress sometime causes your period to be late , your doctor can also precribe medication to regulate your cycle.

it could be just hormones, or have you had your thyroid checked lately? maybe do a little research on hypothyroidism and see if you have any symptoms.
it could also be stress… or maybe you’ve been extra active lately?
there are really a lot of different reasons other than pregnancy…
