I started YAZ when I was 16, and within two months, I stopped breaking out. It completely turned my skin around. I have tried all the lotions and potions out there, but if you have bad, consistent acne, you have to work from the inside out.
I have heard people talk about gaining weight while on birth control, including YAZ. I gained about a half cup size in my breasts, but that was it.
It also helps to control cramps!!! Stay on YAZ, and be careful to take it every single night. You can really mess yourself up by missing a day or more.
Also, I have heard that if you take birth control from ~age 16 on, you reduce the chances of getting ovarian cancer by 60%!!!
Bottom line: YAZ works and is great.

I was on yaz for about 6 months and it did absolutely nothing for my acne, although I didn’t gain or lose any weight either. It’s probably different for everyone though- I have heard of a lot of people who gain weight and who take it for acne. In my opinion (I might be totally wrong) but if you acne was severe enough for accutane, I don’t know if yaz will do anything for it.
Good luck with it.

I strongly reccomend you do not take this pill. Or any birth control pill (bcp) for that matter.
All bcp’s do for acne is adjust your hormones. Now, adjusting these hormones will cause a bad breakout when you take them. I have the same experience. This never went away for over 4 months, so I came off of them. It did nothing but ruin my skin. And I wish that something distracted me the day I got prescribed them
Even if they do clear your skin eventually.. Your acne will return upon coming off of them. This is because your hormones, again will have to re-adjust and it will be like hitting puberty all over again.
Bcp are also known to prevent woman growing out of acne naturally, above should explain this.
Overall.. Please don’t make a big mistake. Do not get Bcp.
