A lot of people swear by water. One of my friends drinks it a lot, and he said drinking water helps him to function better, and he even claims it helps him sleep better. Another friend claimed, when I asked him how his skin stays so clear, that all he does is use water on his skin. No soap, no cleanser, just water. Also, drinking a lot of water is supposed to help with weight loss efforts. And when people have kidney infections, they’re told that drinking a lot of water helps. My question is, what is it about water that makes it a cure all for the body? Does water really have all the abilities people claim it does, or is it something that people have gotten in their head to be true, so therefore they swear by it’s "powers"? What’s with water?

If i go on a detoxing diet, i want to lose fat. So i will be working out for atleast an hour a day too. Detoxing diets seems like it only helps you lose water weight.

Hi. I’m going to cut out carbs for one week for a medical reason. I’m just curious to know how much weight I’m likely to lose. I eat a lot of sugar per day which I will be cutting out as well as other high carb foods. I’m 8 stone now but wondering what I’d be likely to lose. I know it’ll be water weight but just wanting to know. Thanks xx

I started one yesterday, a 1250 calorie diet with a lot of exercise, and I weighed myself today, and I am a pound heavier! Is it just water weight? Should I wait a week before I weigh myself?

I am trying to lose between 20-30 lbs and so I drink about 80 oz of water a day (along with my diet and exercise) but I feel like all I am losing is water weight so if I stop drinking all that water will I start losing fat instead of water?
